Book Fair Next Week!!!

This week we are going to prepare for our Book Fair, taking place all of next week! Students will watch a video clip of upcoming books. After they are finished, in groups of four, they will create a flyer for the book fair.

• Take picture with favorite book for Book Fair slideshow
  

First day of autumn season

September 23rd will mark the first day of Autumn this year! This is when the leaves start changing color and falling to the ground.

DO NOW:

Sit in assigned seats. Put on library name tag.

Begin cutting autumn leaves on your table.

Watch autumn slide show while you wait for teacher.

MATERIALS:

Construction paper, scissors, barcode name tags.

OBJECTIVE: The Student will:

identify the current season and create autumn leaves for the library tree.

explain and analyze the plot in a story.

Independent Practice:

checkout library book(s).

take AR quiz.

DO NOW: Have a seat and wait for instructions. OBJECTIVE: Welcome students and provide them with library rules and expectations. Class Work: Getting to Know you activity. Review classroom rules. Student q&a. Library rules: 1. Walk, don't run. 2. Speak quietly so you don't disturb student who are reading or studying. 3. Make sure you finish your food and drink outside. 4. Be respectful and considerate of everyone in the library (staff and students). 5. Treat the books and other material with care. 6. Ask for help if you can't find what you want. 7. Return books on time. 8. No yelling in the library. Consequences: 1. Students will be asked to correct behavior. 2. Students will be asked to work independently. 3. Students will not be allowed to check out a book or participate in activities. 4. Student will call parent and explain actions - or -

be asked to go back to class and talk to their teacher.
