Welcome Back!

Students are always eager to come back to school, especially to visit their campus library. We're starting off the school year this year with so many new titles in our collection, but before students begin diving into the library shelves, there are several things they need to learn about the library procedures. Check out the following video for a rundown of our library rules & procedures.

Library Rules & Procedures:

Enter the library quietly.
Sit in your assigned seat.
Place your library books in the middle of the table and quietly wait for instructions.
Wait until your table is called to check out.
Use a shelf marker when looking for a book.
Make a line at the circulation desk when checking out.
Do not cut in line.
Place your books in your table.
Read your books silently or go find an easy book to read and test for the rest of the library class.
Line up quietly holding your books correctly.

First Week of School

Every year is a new beginning for our students at Southmost Elementary. Our first week of school started off with a smooth beginning. It is great seeing our returning students as well as new faces. Although the library is not open until next week, there have been many kids stop by to say hello and take a quick tour of the library. Let's get ready for a new year and new opportunities to reach our reading goals. Go Southmost Warriors!
